well.. im sure u all know ive had a few relationships from here.. none of which i regret.. i guess its easier to fall in love with people on here because i guess its easier to open up to people on here.. and show people who u are inside.. i mean in person its alot harder .. at least i think so.. cuz u dont have to worry about what the other person thinks of your looks etc... i mean its just one on one talking.. its easier to get into a convo cuz there really isnt any "shy" kinda shit... i dont really know if im making sense or not... and like heidi said.. yeah u dont have to pay bills or whatever with the person... but at the same time .. u get to know the person without that stress at first.. meeting people online is so easy going .. and i guess its just really easy to feel comfortable talking to people.. and of course knowing that it would be just as easy to fall for someone... ive had 3 really serious relationships on here.. all 3 went r/t.. one is still present and probably will be for a long time... i think people fall out of love easy cuz .. i mean if ur always on here talking to the person.. then i guess people get to the point where they have heard all the other person has to say.. and it just becomes a bore.. hence the love goes away... but its certainly not a fantasy... cuz ive met 3 people from here that i was in a relationship with .. and they have been the best relationships ive had.. ive learned the most from those 3 than i have all the others i had that didnt start here... an the person im with now will soon be living with me... its alot easier to be friends first on here too... i dunno i know alot of people front and try to be someone they arent just to get what they want.. but not all of them are like that... was friends with genie for 2 years before we got together.. and i dont see an end to us.. but i guess its what you make it... and how far your willing to go with it.. *shrugs*

okay to point out the obvious but to try not to be mean...i think women (and men)in unhappy marriages are pretty much what most online romances are about.
i dont think you get to know people better i think it's easier for people to hide their insecurities
and only time will tell whether it worksand the odds not to mention most common sense isnt on your side.
but its good to have something to look forward to after the life you're unhappy with...because of a bad marriage, children...someone who doesnt type i love you 100 times a night. But I wouldnt really call that a real relationship or one that in any way has a solid foundation.
and sometimes a computer has a lot more space for a woman and her kids(assuming that the kids join) than lets say a basement apartment.
not really pretending to care but just stating what i think is fairly obvious. Another thing is you have to look at a person's history. If they have a tendency to fall in love on the net and sacrifice their marriage etc to their new true love gotta wonder if your relationship is all that special afterall.
anyhow im not commenting on this topic after this cus it was a curiosity, and any discussions on this are just going to be really annoying.
-
yeah maybe... but you say that like a woman or man in an unhappy marriage wouldnt be going out looking for someone else in real life.. if they didnt have net access... that shit happens off the net.. its not an exclusive internet thing.. its just more apparent because everyone sees it on here...
well i know from experience that you do get to know people better from a net relationship.. but they are a great deal harder... all of what your saying applies in real-life off the net situations too..
you wouldnt say it was a real relationship because its not something that you would ever consider going through with.. but there are people that would... i would rather meet someone on here and explore who they are rather than meet someone irl and have the relationship base itself on sex or material things.. or being used and loved for the wrong reasons... at least here ppl fall in love with who you are.. instead of what you have or dont have.. and i think thats important..
haha.. see i knew u wouldnt be able to complete a post without taking a shot at me... must care to some extent.. cuz if u didnt .. this topic wouldnt be here now would it
sacrafice thier marriage? how do you know the marriage wasnt already over? and certainly you wouldnt know the situation because i know how you like to assume stuff and start shit... then claim you dont care *L .. but anyways... obviously it isnt something that you would consider doing.. so of course it wouldnt look like a solid foundation to you.. and since your in a relationship, you have no reason to look at a net relationship seriously... even tho you have had your "flings" .. but i guess thats different huh *L

you stick "(and men)" in parentheses, but then you make another comment about a woman and her kids in a basement (and we all know who that's directed towards - why T continues to talk to you is beyond me)......is this really a curiosity about why "PEOPLE" get into online relationships, or is it a curiosity about why women get into them? (specifically married ones?)....(and oh yeah, so much for this not being directed towards anyone in particular)
and is this about "affairs"? or "relationships" in general? cuz you started out asking why people fall in love online, but then you end up speaking about affairs with married women (not married people, mind you......WOMEN)
do you have any problem with married women getting involved in online lesbian relationships? or is that somehow different? cuz you failed to bring that up
married men have online relationships too
are you aware that these "married women" you've chosen focus on for 'no apparent reason' have to have someone else on the other end of the computer to have a relationship WITH? that it's a 2-way street, and a lot of times a man would still enter into a relationship with said married woman even after finding out her marital status? what's his excuse, in the Gospel According to St James?
oh wait, what am i saying, you would know aaaall about this topic firsthand wouldnt you? being that you've been with your g/f for 7 years (Commonlaw Marriage in some states) and for a good 9 months you carried on full-blown online affair with me, a *gasp*! married woman!!! with kids!!! (even calling my baby daughter "yours")
how can you be "curious" about this topic? i think you're fulla shit, frankly *G
don't even get me started, and don't think i don't know why you even began this topic in the first place.....i'm sorry to inform you that my blood pressure while typing this hasn't budged....face the fact that you no longer affect me the way you'd love to, and quit leaving these juvenile little attempts to be antagonistic on someone's board, cuz you're not fooling me, and you're really not gonna get the reaction you thrive on.....and you're predictable you know....it was this time last year when i deleted you (like i did this time) for being arbitrarily abusive and you took your bullshit to the boards........please, you're so repetitive and boring!!!!
i can delve even further than this, but that's what you want......you must've gone through your famous cycle of abusing and harassing women in chat and now it's my turn once again....and please, don't EVEN try to insult my intelligence by weakly claiming you started this topic (as heidi said, for the "millionth time") for ANY other reason than to see what reaction you can get from me......oh spare me, it's so goddamn played to death already
rotten: "anyhow im not commenting on this topic after this cus it was a curiosity, and any discussions on this are just going to be really annoying."
thank God for small favors
and somehow i highly doubt he'll be able to not comment after this *G
-
actually, T, he does know about "real life" flings too.......ask him why he can't call women he meets online
but i digress *G
*LOL* you and i are both thinking this was about us (which it is).......well, he thinks he's an expert at hiding stuff, but he isn't......he gets off on this shit, you know that?......yeah i think you do *L
you and me and genie or anybody else don't have to defend a THING to this troublemaker, especially since his shit stinks too
oh brother, i got better things to do than this, honestly
*goes off to do something better than this*
oh and how much you wanna wager we'll be seeing more from him on this thread, despite the fact that he said he wasn't commenting anymore? *LOL*.....either that or he'll get help somewhere, from one of his fans who refuse to see him for who he is.....or maybe his latest "infatuation".......(don't say "love", cuz that's his new thing now, even though he told me "i love you" for months)
*yaaaaawn*.......how i hate mornings *strettttttch*

I meant im not commenting about what i think about relationships on here or giving out any more opinions. But i will clear one thing, this honestly wasn't about you at all Leo in fact you weren't in my mind when i posted it.
It was a direct reaction to cruising some of the boards and seeing nothing but..and im not really exaggering there but "i love you" "i miss you" threads. Some people were even in the pool when i commented on them, and many agreed with me right there and then. That's the point i'll discuss...the reason's why i started this thread. I gave my opinion already on the rest and like i said im not restating or clarifying any of my points or opinions.

okay leo you can gloat on this one i'll respond to heidi, mostly because i've known her for a while and am a little...not much but a little surprised at her being so supportive *L
your last comment mostly heidi, yes it can happen in r/t but i really believe people who are unhappy in their marriage come here and look for love just as a reason to get out of their marriage. In r/t people dont get the same support for cheating than they do in here. In fact i cant think of a more supportive place for people who are in fact cheating. In the real world they deal with a lot more scrutiny.
Just kinda shocked when someone goes against everything they've ever said to me. but i guess things change and people's ideas on this change drastically over a short period of time.
And i guess friendships aren't worth the pain at all, maybe maybe not not sure i agree. But this whole "go for it" you only have one..blah blah is very selfish and not smart. In real life do you just go for things because they'll make you happy, its called instant gratification not any kind of living on the edge mentality.
And i guess on here it's really not cool to mention things we'd tell people in real life who are doing the same thing, but i've never been one to base my views on popular opinion so here goes....what about the children? i mean i have seen many women here who are willing to give up their children over this deep love for someone most haven't spent even a year with (real time) i personally think that when you have children you have a responsibility not to fuck up their lives over taking a chance on love.
So leo i did respond but dont be too happy had nothing to do with you. More with surprise on changing views. Guess values are flexible afterall.

Ok..apparently lately im not clear enough with you..*L*..and this isnt goin to turn into a battle..so what I meant was...If two people think they can work it out here..and think its worth the trouble then I think they should go for it..
As for married people that brag about online relationships I think its wrong..that veiw is the same as always..but I do realize some marriages are over before the papers are signed..and unless your walking a mile in that persons shoes then I guess you really dont know whats goin on in their life..
I think discrection ..did I spell that right?..*L*..Is what everyone should have here...If your married and have something on the side..if you care about it..you'll keep it quiet..that way nobody has anything to use against you..*G...That pretty much goes for everything here..
but to post on boards that your in love on the net, post in chatrooms that you love someone that you have never met while your husband is out working..no matter how bad the marriage is wrong...and thats my opinion on that
However if the marriage is over and you think you have found something else...then yeah go for it..I dont think you need to broadcast it though..but Im the type that dont talk about my personal life..that dont mean everyone is like that...to each their own
and Rotten..6 months ago when all those americans lost their life I said to you it changed me in a way I couldnt explain..that my look on life was different..You never seemed to accept that ..I dont think people change as much as circumstances and points of view change...Im the same person I just care more about my life and making myself happy then I do about all the other shit.
I guess in your eyes there's something wrong with that..*shrug*..

the fact that you're systematically picking apart and abhorring the very thing you and i were involved with just shows what a total hypocrite you are
how many people supported you and me on the porch? are you forgetting we had a wide audience when we were together? people cheered us on, man, are you nuts??
and may i remind you that i never said i was going to leave my husband for ANYBODY......that was one of the first things i ever said to you, and i still say it to this day; i never planned on leaving my family for someone i was seeing online......if i leave my husband, then it will be because it was coming from a lonnnnnnnng way back.......although, that little online fling you and i had contributed to a lioness's share of the state of my marriage (whether that's good or bad at this point, i won't say)
whether you intended this topic for me or not, doesn't matter anymore, because of the statements you keep making about married women with kids having online affairs.......as a married woman with kids who's HAD an online affair with YOU, i am simply telling you that you have NO RIGHT to criticize anybody else
tell me, rotten, if my marriage ended right when he found out about you, what would you have done?.......hmm?...would you have flown out here to be with me?.....you couldn't even meet me for a lousy sandwich, so i tend to doubt you'd be as upstanding as you keep saying other people should be
i'm not gloating, either, i'm just setting you straight, that's all.....you started this topic, and you posted your views, so all i'm doing is voicing mine
maybe if you hadn't said such nasty, uncalled for shit to me that time, i wouldn't feel the need to be as candid as i've been, and i could've said a lot worse.....believe me, i could be just as nasty, but i think you already know that
